Granara, February 27- March 2 2026.

On the evening of February 27, we sat together at the same table for the first time.
Simone prepared a big pot of soup and a delicious chocolate cake for dinner. Between one tongue twister and another, we began to break the ice and to know each other.
Noor from Palestine, Nikole from Greece, Miruna and Alejandra from Spain, Beatrice from Italy. Then Simone, Francesco and Charlotte from Alekoslab; and finally Dario, our generous host.

During the days of the preparatory visit, we shared theatrical practices to build together a shared playful and creative dimension. We identified the themes we will work on during the workshop; we explored the spaces of the Granara eco-village where we will eat, sleep, act, and dance.
Then we tried to draw them, each of us in his own way, on a personal imaginary map. We shared doubts, needs, and organizational guidelines to ensure everbody can take part in this adventure in a peaceful state of mind.

Finally, with both closed and open eyes, we tried to visualize what might happen, what we would like to happen, and also what we would not like to happen in our “Dreams, Roots and Woods.” We asked ourselves how to protect our cultural differences and how to possibly transform them into valueable resources.
Meanwhile, the war in Iran began, and we struggled together for Noor, who had to fly back to Palestine. February came to an end, and Nikole gave us a bracelet which, according to Greek tradition, is worn during the month of March to prepare for spring and nurture a dream for the new season.

On the last evening, we played a card game called “Shukran,” which in Arabic means “thank you.”
Thank you for the laughter, thank you for the curiosity, for the enthusiasm, and for the mutual trust. Thank you for the possibility we just begun to build together.
